Ressurection

Good news, everyone! There's been some contributions to the project lately, which is really great! I thought that Folder Size would die a slow death along with XP, but lots of people are still using it, and I have enough contributions that it's worth making them into an updated version.
I have a smooth looking new icon for the control panel, a potential Russian translation, and a code patch that I didn't notice until now, which should protect the service from getting carried away by symlinks on network servers.
Thanks!

Great news, love this little tool, should have been in XP default.

Dont really know what a new version can bring, but if it solves some crashes... Not that I have experienced it, but reading the faq...

Going to Linux is fine, and I may do the same, if and when I'm unable to stay with Windows 2000 Professional. Liked your Vista comments. ;-)

However, your utility may be easier to port to ReactOS, to be a Windows 2003 Server clone, in a stable version in perhaps a year. In the 'works' ever since Windows 95, John Dvorak is now impressed by it.

Maybe you can get this built into the operating system, with less trouble than trying for Vista? ReactOS is open source, also ...

Ouch! Scratch the word "clone." The developers do not use that word ... it is a Win2K3 compatible operating system.

Hi,

is there a way to make foldersize show the size of "network-folders" (I'm not sure, if thats the correct term, in German it's "Netzlaufwerk") that one gets via the directory's properties?

There are plenty of reasons I don't use Vista, but FolderSize is one of the more important ones ;)

Thanks for all your hard work!
